1930's Fraternal Order of Eagles 4.9 Pounds Cast Iron Eagle-- rare and hard to find
This 1930's Fraternal Order of Eagles 4.9 Pounds Cast Iron Eagle has been in my late husband's antique fraternity lodge memorabilia, pins and ribbons collection for over 40 years.  My late husband especially liked this beautiful, old cast iron Eagle as it is hard to find and beautiful piece.  It is heavy and has a white gloss material that was probably baked in the manufacturing production.
It is in good condition for its age but does have a small amount of white material missing on the left top corner as seen in the last picture and has some wear. It measures 7 inches tall by 8 inches wide and weighs 4.9 pounds.
    Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.)
The Fraternal Order of Eagles  is an international fraternal organization that was founded on February 6, 1898, in Seattle, Washington by a group of six theater owners including John Cort (the first president), brothers John W. and Tim J. Considine, Harry (H.L.) Leavitt (who later joined the Loyal Order of Moose), Mose Goldsmith and Arthur Williams. Originally made up of those engaged in one way or another in the performing arts, the Eagles grew and claimed credit for establishing the Mother's Day holiday in the United States as well as the "impetus for Social Security". Their lodges are known as "aeries".
This 1930's Fraternal Order of Eagles 4.9 Pounds Cast Iron Eaglewill make a great addition to your vintage and antique fraternity and FOE
