    Description

Beautiful ORTHOCERAS Fossil Plate 6in x 6in, Three Orthoceras.
Orthoceras is an extinct cephalopod related to modern squid, octopus, and Nautilus. They lived during the upper Devonian period around 370 million years ago. They lived inside their long, straight, conical shells, had tentacles they used to grab food, and used jet propulsion, squirting water, for locomotion.
The rock containing them is quarried from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
